Backups thought - icons / how to re-upload to other sites?

I don't think backing up the posts to your livejournal backs up your icon stash as well. Since I don't know of a faster way to do this, I went to my icons page and simply clicked on each one and dragged it to a folder on my desktop, so at least I have all of my lj icons in one place, should I need to upload them all somewhere else. PITA, but better than nothing.

If someone has a faster way, comment it here for others to use?

ETA: I've backed up my lj -- how do I upload it to my accounts at GJ, IJ, and JF?

Go to your icons page, click "File/Save Page As..." and save as "Web Page, complete"

But won't the html links to my icons disappear if I'm deleted?

If you save the complete web page, in the process it should create a folder named something like "[page name]_files" that contains copies of all of the files, including images, associated with that page.

Right - did that, but it's the same slow-down problem as dragging them over - they all have to be renamed because all of your icons have the same final info - like, all of mine are either 776902.gif or 776902.jpg. So downloading, saving as, or dragging - same problem of renaming absolutely everything. At least with dragging I see the pictures. ;D

Hmm...when I tried it, the image files all got different names, though they weren't very descriptive: 812453_001.gif, 812453_002.gif, etc. I wonder if there are browser/OS differences.

Firefox extensions like DownThemAll (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/201) can grab all the images on a page lickety-split; you can even specify a search substring or regex for the URLs to only grab the icons.

Actually the same problem pops up - since they're all named the same thing, you have to change their names manually as you go anyway -- looks like it would be equally as slow to use DownloadThemAll as it was to drag them.

How do I back up my journal? I can't find a good application for Macs, and I post using the LJ interface.
