I wonder if they replaced that name when they revived A Chorus Line. I mean, "Locked in the bathroom with 'Peyton Place'" - no way did that lyric stay as it was.
Just a couple of weeks ago I posted to my LJ looking for any version of "If Ever I Would Leave You". I was hoping someone would have the original with RG, but alas, no replies as such.
So, so sad! When I heard he was sick, awaiting lung transplants, I feared the worst, but hoped for the best.
When I was a kid, we had the Camelot soundtrack, and "If Ever I Would Leave You" was my favorite song. I was just thinking most of my memories of him are from when I was pretty young, seeing him sing and perform in skits on variety shows like Sonny & Cher, Flip Wilson, Laugh-In, and Tom Jones. And I'll always remember watching him sing "The Impossible Dream."
Wasn't that wonderful? My favorite part is when he hid on the ceiling like a spider, or something out of a horror movie. He had a lovely sense of humor about himself.
