"I'm not gay" gay Republicans are the new black

Seriously, guys, it's getting kind of ridiculous.

There's a standard line about how, if every gay, lesbian, transgender, or bisexual person turned purple overnight, intolerance and homophobia (bleh, I hate that word) would all-but-disappear the next day, when people realized how many of their friends and loved ones were Not Straight. I can't remember who first came up with it--Harvey Fierstein, maybe?

What color should we pick for Homosexual Political Hypocrites? Because I'm thinkin' a group photo of U.S. Republican politicians would be a rather shocking shade of whichever color we choose, non?

If all the gays turned purple overnight, the Republican party would have to change their color from Red because it clashes so much.

(this story was all over the Seattle news last night and this morning... between him and the Spokane I'm-not-gay-but-giving-jobs-to-pretty-young-men mayor a few years back, we seem to have more than our share of hypocrites out here...)

Oy! I know I've said a hundred times before that the Republicans need to get a life and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing in their bedrooms but this seems to be taking that a bit too far. *bg*

Plus, what is with these Republicans who believe they can get away with stuff like this and still hold office? I can't believe this guy called the cops! I mean talk about hoisting yourself on a petard.

I think if we're going with purple the Republicans are going to end up with a really nasty red and purple tartan. ;-)

Blue, I heard. There was a teen coming out anthology called Am I Blue? The title story was about a kid who wasn't sure about his sexuality yet and was getting bullied by kids who thought he was gay, and his fairy godfather appeared to advise him and give him three wishes. His second wish was Blue Day, coast to coast. His third wish would have been to turn the chief bully blue, but this turned out to be redundant.
