tzikeh: (question - inquiry - bafflement)

I hope to use the little break period coming up to learn more about things like del.icio.us and delicious library and cull and organize my iTunes and blah blah blah, but in the meantime I'm just gonna ask a question and hope someone has a simple answer.

The simple answer, of course, might be "No."

I only have a del.icio.us account for me as a fan, and I'd like to create one that I can show non-fannish people for non-fannish links and so on. The only thing which would remain the same is my set of wishlists. Is there a way to migrate information at del.icio.us from one account to another?

HALP

Look under "settings." You'll want to "export / backup" from your fannish account and "import / upload" to your non-fannish account. Dead easy.

Additionally: And in case you're worried about putting some stuff you don't want into your nonfannish account, you can set the import for private bookmarks and unprivate it at your leisure.

Or you can send yourself links through the networky tools. I can't remember the specific command.

Won't that import everything? or is there a way to customize?

Yeah, it dumps all your bookmarks regardless of tag.

The only other thing I can think of doing is getting an HTML feed along these lines (http://del.icio.us/html/cleversimon/software?extended=body&tags=yes&rssbutton=no&count=99999) (all my bookmarks tagged "software," ever) and writing some kind of regex script to convert it to the importable format. Do you know any Perl nerds who owe you a favour?

HALP!

I installed... something, that lets you select a bunch of links on a single page and bookmark them. On Firefox, I right-click on a link to choose "open link in new tab". Now, when I right-click on a link, I get a large, green, dotted line which expands in whatever direction I move the mouse to select links. Any idea wtf I just installed and how to get rid of it?

that is how you select the links - that's what the green dotted line is for. go to Tools - AddOns - look at the SnapLinks plugin and look at the options. then go back to the snap links web page and read any info there. if you still have questions - google for a tutorial
