The only two places to read "polling" data that matters are electoral-vote.com and fivethirtyeight.com. And if you need more support that fivethirtyeight is DAMN good, here's a Newsweek article about the founder, a statistics geek from U of C, and here is the unbelievably extensive FAQ. A lot of that is complete gobbledygook to me, but the bit about Joe Lieberman I understand. I also love that it took me about ten down-screens to get to it.

I can't believe I'm sitting here looking at an electoral map that doesn't have Texas solidly in the "red" category. I've never seen that, in all my years of looking at electoral maps. The "N" is always there (the shape formed by Arizona, up through Idaho, east to Kansas, and encompassing that entire stack of states, from Canada to Mexico.)

So interesting!
