"The Battlestar Galactica Auction, presented by Propworx, is coming to the Auction Network on January 17 and 18, 2009. Collection includes set plans, production art, foam core set models, scripts, costumes, ships, props, set pieces and more."
Kids, they are not joking. Everything from Joseph Adama's cigarette lighter to Head Six's red dress to Starbuck's dogtags to--again, not joking--The MK VII Viper (auction estimate $50,000-$60,000). And I quote:
This ship mock-up has a complete, light-up, functional interior, a hydraulic canopy... the ship itself is made of metal, foam and wood.... Measures 30' long by 13'6" tall.
Now, that's a conversation piece.

You can place your bids online. Download a PDF of the auction booklet here (though the website has color photos, each of which are clickable for bidding purposes).

ETA: omg two more things: Dradis displays:
The Dradis Array hung over the Command Table in CIC. On it all the vital information of the tactical situation was displayed. It had a total of ten monitors, arrayed in groups of two, a larger unit holding two monitors over a lower unit holding one monitor. This lot contains one of each unit, representing one fifth of the Dradis array. The monitors are in working condition, and this lot will come with a disk of static images so the winner can hook the array to a computer and have the images displayed.
And finally, this description just cracks me up: FTL Key:
A silver FTL key as first seen in the Miniseries. The key is inserted and turned to engage a Battlestar's "faster-than-light" engines. Working condition.
Working condition. Well. Now I just need a Battlestar....

SG-1 did the same thing when that series ended. I just wish the proceeds were going to charity. I don't know why, but the idea of contributing to producers' and auction houses' fat pockets really irks me.

Oh - does the money go to the producers? I hadn't seen that information.

Huh.

They don't really say, but like with the SG-1 eBay auctions, it says nothing about charity or anything like that, so I'm assuming it goes back to the show's people.

Surely you have $50-$60,000 lying around somewhere. Did you check in that one jar on the top shelf in the kitchen?

Eee! They're selling Gaeta's pen! I am cackling a lot over that.

They've actually labeled it his retractable bloodied stabbing pen!

I'm kind of sad that they don't have the torture bucket from 1x08, or Billy's class ring, or, oh, the bowl from which Adama eats noodles. But I'll bet you EJO walked off with the noodle bowl. *g*

I'm thinking the Cylon resurrection tub would make an awesome jacuzzi...

Working condition. *snicker*

I was really hoping to get my credit cards paid off in 2009 ...
