Governor Rod Blagojevich arrested for corruption. U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald said secret tape recordings showed Blagojevich was attempting "to sell the U.S. Senate seat" that President-elect Barack Obama recently vacated, among other stupidity.

Just yesterday, Blagojevich said at a press conference (YouTube link): "if anybody wants to tape my conversations, go ahead and do it", among other things about taping him and feeling free to send in undercover people with wires. He even mentions Watergate. Too bad he forgot how that one went down.

Illinois makes its own fun. Seriously, this is two in a row--George Ryan (R), and now G-Rod (D). At least we're bi-partisan about our corruption. We reach across the aisle WITH HANDCUFFS.

And honestly, most of us are just laughing uproariously. At least it's something we're good at!

Damn! California is so boring: all we have is the Terminator in our state house.

Isn't Illinois gonna recall this guy? I mean, we had a recall election over pretty much nothing except terminal lameness by our previous governor...

Unfortunately the Illinois electorate does not have the constitutional ability to recall elected officials. There have been statewide and county referendums floated to change that aspect of the state constitution, but so far no success.

Nope here we voters can only watch as our politicians (from the level of alderman on up) pillage freely. If they get caught we do now have what can be considered the "Illinois Politicians' Dedicated Prison Cell". Since our immediately former Governor is currently occupying that space looks like they are going to have to expand that prison space a bit, or pardon the former convicted crook to make way for the latest indited crook.

Oh dear, oh dear! I mean it is ROTFL worthy, but the crime sprees can't leave much time or opportunity for actually tending to State business :-(

This guy sounds like he's not only dishonest, but incredibly stupid and possibly insane as well. But I guess that's not enough to turf him out of office =8-O. My sympathies.
