Never has the title Doctor WHO? been more appropriate.

Interesting that he wasn't really on the radar. The BBC Office of Disinformation did a bang-up job.

There were a couple of stories about Matt Smith being a candidate, but they didn't really get any traction, at least not in fanworld.

I was hoping for somebody older, but I'll wait and see how he does.

As a life-long DW fan, it's never about the actor for me, more the character, so I shall wait and see how he will "make the role his own."

Oh, I'll see how he does; I was just hoping for someone older. The Doctor doesn't have to be all young and sexy. I thought it was time to bring in more of that Professorish vibe.

My wife's favorite was always Peter Davidson... Mine was a tie between my first two doctors, Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker. It's getting to be time for a Tom Baker type I think. They are trying hard to hang onto the young viewers though. Maybe the next one.

My Doctor will always be Tom Baker, though I loved the 3rd Doctor and I grew to love the 5th Doctor.

This is a surprise to me, because the only rumors I ever saw involved black actors, so I thought they were going for the first black Doctor.

I saw something about him as a possible pick late last night, but that was the first time I had ever seen his name mentioned. The BBC was stealth with this one.

Also, your icon is awesome.

The BBC Office of Disinformation did a bang-up job.

They really do seem better able to keep secrets than most other networks.
