Daschle was a fucked-up move, both Daschle and Obama. Daschle - wtf, dude. Bad Obama. No heavenly choir (this time).

But... isn't it nice to have the President step up and say that he made a mistake, take full responsibility, and promise to work to ensure it never happens again?

After EIGHT YEARS, when asked if he regretted *anything*, Bush said that possibly the "Mission Accomplished" banner was premature.

*so glad Obama is here*

Yes. It's refreshing to have a President who believes in honest disclosure for himself, as well as others. Between his accepting full responsibility for his fucked-up judgment, and his chastising CEOs who screwed with/up their own companies, I can't help but respect the man even more.

I harbor the notion (not so secretly :) ) that Obama will score more meaningful accomplishments in his first full month in office - let alone 100 days - than we'd seen in the past eight years in toto.

When I have the news on, but am only half-assedly watching it, I still have this knee-jerk reaction when they say "the president". They say "president" and my eyes roll on their own accord and I have to fight my middle finger back down.

Then they go, "President Obama" and I got, "Oh right! The Bush was whacked!" Apparently 8 years of idiocy and frustration cannot be recovered from in 18 days (or whatever it is now) of real leadership.
