Okay - all done watching, so: Gaeta's last line reminded me of that episode of M*A*S*H where Charles is trying to understand what it's like to die, and he has a mortally-wounded soldier, conscious but dying, and asks him "What does it feel like?" and the soldier says "I smell bread." Just one of those awesome, meaningless, incomprehensible things.

Richard Hatch PWNS EVERYONE. Bravo, sir--bravo. Take a bow. Heck, take two. (Pls get a real hairstyle)

EJO brought his A game. Well, everyone brought their A game. And seriously, ever since I first saw her say it in a Season 4.5 preview, I simply *cannot* hear McDonnell deliver her "I AM COMING FOR ALL OF YOU" line without hearing "In place of a Dark Lord YOU WOULD HAVE A QUEEEEEEN! Not dark, but beautiful and terrible as the dawn! Treacherous as the sea, stronger than the foundations of the Earth! ALL SHALL LOVE ME AND DESPAIR!"

To be serious about that bit, though - frak me dead. Her eyes. Her voice. That SPEECH. And the reactions of the Cylons around her, and the humans who hear her. Laura Roslin, for all intents and purposes commanding a Cylon ship, threatening the Galactica. Dudes? This show fucking kills. How did we get here. HOW DID WE GET HERE?! Frakking brilliant.

AND they used one of my favorite narrative tropes without overdoing it - the "friends and/or lovers told the other is dead and are then reunited" plot. Adama reunites with NotDead!Saul! Roslin reunites with NotDead!Adama! I am filled with love for all humanity!

HOLY FRAK Anders... omg. Aaaaa, will they get to Cottle?? And speaking of that scene - HI ROMO! YOU AWESOME NUTBAR!

I'm still convinced that the Pythia stuff is pertinent, if weirdly off. Baltar had a warning dream. Baltar *knowing he has to go back* for the people who believe in him. Baltar going to see Gaeta before the execution, and being the one to say "I know who you are." Baltar for Dying Leader Y/N?

OMG CHIEF SAVES THE UNIVERSE!!!!! Chief for Doctor's next companion? GO CHIEF! And I loved that scene with his friend. "Yeah, I'm a machine. What does that make you, a dumbass?" That's Civil War, babies. Dayum. I wonder if people will ever know it was him, or if Chief will forever be the unsung hero of the series?

And he sees both a dire portent and a metaphor: Galactica is coming apart at the seams. This Will Not End Well.

I won't say anything about the previews in this post, as I know some people don't even like to know that much.

i SO had the same reaction to roslin - i told my friend, "don't give her the damn ring!"

and adama wasn't being a pussy!! he was so back to s1 kick-ass adama, and when roslin and him saw each other again it was just PERFECT. not over the top, and so in line with both their s1 characters and who they are now. just, SO RIGHT.

i don't think sammy can die. i mean, the final five have to do something together, don't they?? stupid romo not wanting to help kara, SLOUCHED IN THE HALLWAY WITH SAM'S BLOOD ALL OVER HER. totally heart-breaking.

and baltar's goodbye to gaeta! OMG!! THEY DID THAT SO WELL. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

though i really, really want head!six to return to baltar. other than that, i think this episodes was seriously tops.

Definitely an episode made of win! EJO is one of those people that can act an entire scene with the twitch of his eyebrow when he's on, and he was on in SPADES this time. And, yeah, with you on the Dark Lord!Roslin. EEEEP!

That tear in the ship. Methinks this can't end well for Galactica. Not at all.

And WHAT THE FRAK is up with Baltar? Is he, like, the creator of the Cylons or something? There is, er, a bit more to his story, I'm saying.
