Sometimes, I forget that the stuff I use isn't all that's out there, and there might be stuff I'd like more than what I buy out of habit.

Tonight, it's BATH TIME!

Also, if it's not against your lj religion, I'd love it if you'd post a quick post linking to here from your lj. The broader the survey base, the better!

Found this on friendsfriends!

I don't wash my face with anything, just water when I'm having a shower. So, no soap.

Hooray for friendsfriends!

Just water? That's a new one. But I assume it keeps you clean, so go you!

Yeah I just don't wash my face, I can and have gone quite a few days without water going near it. I have completely clear skin luckily!

I don't use soap to wash my face either.

And I use Bath & Body Works body washes.

I'm moving to soap-free, myself; face and body. Not quite there yet, but not using soap on my face has almost totally cleared up my acne.

I have friends who swear by the oil cleanse method.

To expand on my answer for body soap, I use HIBICLENS®, an antimicrobial, antiseptic skin cleanser every other day because of a recent medical thing. The other days I use a Dial antibacterial liquid body wash.

I use an olive oil based soap (Kiss My Face) or Dr. Bronner's (unscented) for face and body. They are not obnoxiously smelly and do not dry out my skin. Hooray!

Face: microdermabrasion cloth and water (followed by Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Acne Wash every other day).

Body: Lush Happy Hippy hair and body gel.

Yes, I like grapefruit.

I've come to hate bar soap and its tendency to get ucky and goopy.

I love grapefruit.

The microdermabrasion cloth -- I have not heard of this product. I thought microdermabrasion wasn't something you did every day?

I got my cloth 3 or 4 years ago and am still using it; my skin's so sensitive, even mild cleansers were making it break out, so I thought I'd see if it helped, and it did. You're supposed to exfoliate once a week, but my skin needs it daily -- srsly, I slough dead skin like a snake.

I've given up washing my face with soap, and gone to "oil cleansing method". I only use the oil if I'm going to wash my hair, so just water on other days (yes, it really does get you clean!) Yardley's Oatmeal and Almond soap for the body.

I'm so not a girly girl, but I do love my bath products. Right now I'm using different types of body soap from "Fresh." I'm not particular about the soap, I just love that they all lather really well and smell great. For my face I use Fresh's "Sugar Face Polish." I know that sounds horribly pretentious, but it's an amazing product. After I clean my body with soap, I finish up with Fresh's "Brown Sugar Body Polish." My skin leans toward dry and this has a lot of essential oils in it. So much so that the water actually beads up on my skin after I use it.

TMI, right?

TMI, right?

Not at all - ERAOI (exactly right amount of information. *g*)

The sugar stuff sounds really interesting!

It is. Here are links that describes the products better than I ever could.

Sugar Body Polish

Sugar Face Polish

I don't know if there's a Fresh near you, but it's worth it just to go in and smell their products. No heavy perfumes, they just smell refreshingly clean.

Cetaphil for the face. (Neutrogena healthy skin pads every other day for exfoliation.) Dr. Bronner's Peppermint soap everywhere else.

I wash my face with Cetaphil because it is very, very gentle and cheap!

For my body, I wash with anything that isn't too strongly scented and is extra moisturizing. And I use one of those poof things, not washcloths or things-on-sticks. I can reach my back just fine.

I have no bath, only a shower! It is a source of sadness!

I wash my face with Noxzema Skin Creme and I wash my body with cinnamon or sandalwood soap.

What is this thing you call "bathing"? I only dimly remember having time...

No, seriously--if I remember/have time to wash my face beyond slapping a little water in my eyes, I usually use Dove for sensitive skin, same as in the shower. In general, I go with the minimum of soapy stuff--it dries my skin out. No scrubbies, poofs, loofahs, but perhaps an occasional washcloth.

Once in a blue moon (if I actually notice that my face is getting scaly), I use Burt's Bees face scrub (I don't remember the name--I think it's apricot). It's exfoliating AND moisturizing.

i use dove's daily facials on my face, but not everyday because that makes my face cranky. i like bath & body works shower gel instead of soap and st. ives face scrubs work great for the acne on my shoulders. st ives scrubs should never be put on the face though because the gritty bits are large.

edited to add that for dry skin on bits not my face i've recently fell in love with st. ives oatmeal and shea butter sugar scrub. it smells like frosting!

I use an Olay cleanser on my face and usually some kind of shower gel. Currently it's Bath and Body Works orange and mango stuff. I usually resist the urge to try and eat it. I also like Origins ginger stuff.

[I miss the tub/shower in my old apartment. A 24 inch x 24 inch shower stall? It's a damn good thing I'm not claustrophobic, is all I'm saying.]

My most favourite face soap on the planet continues to be Lush's Coalface (http://www.lush.ca/shop/products/face/cleansers/coalface); I used to use either Ivory or Dove when I was a kid, but Ivory made my face too tight and itchy/sore, and Dove was too oily for me (and I don't have oily skin to begin with, so idek when that was about), so Coalface is perfect for me. It's got little teeny scrubby bits, and it leaves my face clean and supersoft without feeling greasy. (The smell does take a little getting used to, though.)

As for body soap, I use liquid body wash, not bars. Currently, I have both the Dial Vaniila Honey (http://www.dialsoap.com/yogurt-vhbodywash.html) and White Tea and Vitamin E (http://www.dialsoap.com/bw-spring_water.html) body washes; the honey one I got cause it smelled pretty, and the white tea smelled pretty *and* was in the clearance bin for $50¢. And because my skin sometimes gets dry after I shower (because, um, I love waaay too much hot water), I rub on some Burt's Bees Apricot Baby Oil (http://www.burtsbees.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=1000000002385&catalogId=12452&storeId=10201&langId=-12). It's almost entirely all-natural, and it's not super greasy like regular baby oil, but it will moisturize your skin like nobody's business. I ♥ it.

Also, if anyone knows of a good scrubbie/loofah-on-a-plastic-stick, I am all ears; I can't keep one for more than a week and a half without it getting slimy and yucky. (I hang them to dry immediately after every shower, and they still die on me. All I want to do is scrub my back! *cries*)

I use the handmade soap we get from a shop at Bristol; each bar lasts up to six months. When the apocalypse comes, I'll have soap. I like the lavendar one the best. I use the lather from that on my face in the shower, but otherwise, just water. I scrub my back with [livejournal.com profile] abrazak37. :)

So what IS the paper topic?

I usually just rinse my face with warm water or the bit of shampoo that gets on my face when washing my hair. When I take a shower, I'll wash it with Ivory after washing the rest of my body (with hands only, no implements).

And then I use St Ives lotion (in the tub, *not* the pump bottle).

Face: St. Ives Apricot Scrub, Blemish/Blackhead Control formula (oil-free w/salicylic acid), once a week or so. Otherwise, the same soap as on my body.

Body: Crabtree & Evelyn La Source moisturizing soap with shea butter. My skin (except my face) is very dry.

Back: I just let my shampoo rinse down my back, unless I have a cabana boy available to scrub it for me. *g*

I only take baths when I need something to relax sore muscles; I much prefer showers.

Face: Neutrogena regular formula, unscented -- the scented stuff smelled appalling, and the oily skin formula dried my skin way too much.

Body: Body wash, Target store brand (it's cheap!), sensitive skin formula, which basically translates to "unscented" ("Compare to Dove Beauty Body Wash Sensitive Skin"). It lathers like crazy and doesn't stink -- good enough for me! :-)

@tzikeh = a hot cup of tea. Tea FTW.

I use liquid shower soap-- I don't currently have a favorite but they have to be formulated without sodium laureth sulfate because my skin does not seem to like that stuff. (I'm currently using Pangea Organics Canadian Pine w/ White Sage (http://www.pangeaorganics.com/pangea-organics-shower-gels.html) and I love the scent, but I think it's a bit drying so I probably won't use that brand again. The other one I'm using is Hugo Naturals Lemon Verbena & Bergamot Shower Gel (http://www.hugonaturals.com/cart/product_info.php?cPath=32&products_id=98) and it's not at all drying, though I wish it had a slightly stronger scent and lathered up more. But lack of lather is the price one pays for not using sodium laureth sulfate. For my face, I use Aveeno's moisturizing bar. (http://www.aveeno.com/productDetail.do?prodid=3623)
