Rub-a-dub-dub
Mar. 12th, 2009 07:05 pmSometimes, I forget that the stuff I use isn't all that's out there, and there might be stuff I'd like more than what I buy out of habit.
Tonight, it's BATH TIME!
Also, if it's not against your lj religion, I'd love it if you'd post a quick post linking to here from your lj. The broader the survey base, the better!

Date: 2009-03-13 12:17 am (UTC)I don't wash my face with anything, just water when I'm having a shower. So, no soap.

Date: 2009-03-13 12:22 am (UTC)Just water? That's a new one. But I assume it keeps you clean, so go you!

Yes, I like grapefruit.
I've come to hate bar soap and its tendency to get ucky and goopy.

Date: 2009-03-13 12:39 am (UTC)The microdermabrasion cloth -- I have not heard of this product. I thought microdermabrasion wasn't something you did every day?

Sugar Body Polish
Sugar Face Polish
I don't know if there's a Fresh near you, but it's worth it just to go in and smell their products. No heavy perfumes, they just smell refreshingly clean.

Date: 2009-03-13 12:45 am (UTC)For my body, I wash with anything that isn't too strongly scented and is extra moisturizing. And I use one of those poof things, not washcloths or things-on-sticks. I can reach my back just fine.
I have no bath, only a shower! It is a source of sadness!

Date: 2009-03-13 01:32 am (UTC)No, seriously--if I remember/have time to wash my face beyond slapping a little water in my eyes, I usually use Dove for sensitive skin, same as in the shower. In general, I go with the minimum of soapy stuff--it dries my skin out. No scrubbies, poofs, loofahs, but perhaps an occasional washcloth.
Once in a blue moon (if I actually notice that my face is getting scaly), I use Burt's Bees face scrub (I don't remember the name--I think it's apricot). It's exfoliating AND moisturizing.

Date: 2009-03-13 01:50 am (UTC)My most favourite face soap on the planet continues to be Lush's Coalface (http://www.lush.ca/shop/products/face/cleansers/coalface); I used to use either Ivory or Dove when I was a kid, but Ivory made my face too tight and itchy/sore, and Dove was too oily for me (and I don't have oily skin to begin with, so idek when that was about), so Coalface is perfect for me. It's got little teeny scrubby bits, and it leaves my face clean and supersoft without feeling greasy. (The smell does take a little getting used to, though.)
As for body soap, I use liquid body wash, not bars. Currently, I have both the Dial Vaniila Honey (http://www.dialsoap.com/yogurt-vhbodywash.html) and White Tea and Vitamin E (http://www.dialsoap.com/bw-spring_water.html) body washes; the honey one I got cause it smelled pretty, and the white tea smelled pretty *and* was in the clearance bin for $50¢. And because my skin sometimes gets dry after I shower (because, um, I love waaay too much hot water), I rub on some Burt's Bees Apricot Baby Oil (http://www.burtsbees.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=1000000002385&catalogId=12452&storeId=10201&langId=-12). It's almost entirely all-natural, and it's not super greasy like regular baby oil, but it will moisturize your skin like nobody's business. I ♥ it.
Also, if anyone knows of a good scrubbie/loofah-on-a-plastic-stick, I am all ears; I can't keep one for more than a week and a half without it getting slimy and yucky. (I hang them to dry immediately after every shower, and they still die on me. All I want to do is scrub my back! *cries*)

Date: 2009-03-13 02:45 am (UTC)Body: Crabtree & Evelyn La Source moisturizing soap with shea butter. My skin (except my face) is very dry.
Back: I just let my shampoo rinse down my back, unless I have a cabana boy available to scrub it for me. *g*
I only take baths when I need something to relax sore muscles; I much prefer showers.

Date: 2009-03-13 03:32 am (UTC)Body: Body wash, Target store brand (it's cheap!), sensitive skin formula, which basically translates to "unscented" ("Compare to Dove Beauty Body Wash Sensitive Skin"). It lathers like crazy and doesn't stink -- good enough for me! :-)
