At this time next year, I should be deep into the interviewing process for a job as a high school English&Drama teacher. Once I get a job, I think I'm going to go for certification in History, as well. About two years after that, an MA in English.

Here's hoping.

Yay!

Also? I would've liked HS a lot more if I'd had an English/Drama teacher like you. I cannot begin to imagine the fun your students will have. *g*

I'm hoping along with you, not least because I had a wonderful high school English teacher, and you could be just as awesome -- maybe more. So I'm hoping for the kids' sake as well as yours.

Oooh, yay for plans. The thought of teaching high school scares the pants off me, but you've always sounded very positive about it, which is awesome! Go, you.

Heh - my observations have all been positive so far, and I have more coming this summer - so I'm hoping three for three!

Invested, enthusiastic teachers can change worlds. My daughter's high school is blessed with teachers who have made English, Literature, Writing, Drama and History come alive for her. She inherited a love for those from both parents, but the teachers really brought them to life for her.

I'll certainly cheer you on. I've known you only a short while but have seen that your enthusiasm is contagious. I'm sure your classroom will be in demand no matter where you teach.

Yay! It's an awesome plan. And I definitely encourage you to get the certification in history, too. The two definitely go hand in hand, and if you've got a teacher knowledgeable enough to interweave them in the classroom, it will really make the subjects come alive. :)
