It's also possible that, if he is/was a fan, he's been so busy he wasn't able to keep up with the show and thus would be down that he couldn't be ready to see the series end and is going to get spoiled...

A comment on your icon. Bill is somewhere in the middle of Season Two, and I've gotten into the habit of watching as I cross-stitch, and making completely inappropriate remarks about the OBVIOUS TWOO WUV between Adama and the President. It's highly entertaining, because it's pissing Bill off.
