Since Twitter only allows for so much, figured I'd comment here. :)

Which I meant to do anyway after watching the trailer, because. He steals his clothes? Yeah.

I'm a long-time Holmes fan; I adore the stories, and have watched a ton of different versions of the story in film. IMO, Jeremy Brett is *amazing* (and not the least because those versions were probably closest to the original, and Watson was *not* a blithering idiot).

This version - isn't the original. It isn't meant to be. Isn't it rather pointless to get up in arms, blaming the filmmakers for doing what they clearly intended to? I think it looks like a lot of fun, and very slashy, and I'm really looking forward to it. And if I had a walking stick, I would give it to you to stab people with.

Also, I just have to share this - I opened the trailer window, but I was installing an add-in, so I had to restart Firefox. It restarted, loaded, and started running, so I started watching it. Forgetting I had Pandora open in another window, which started running when *it* loaded. So I saw the first half-minute of the trailer with Depeche Mode playing in the background, and it worked so well in a steampunk-y way that I didn't realise it wasn't part of the trailer till I paused it to buffer a bit, and the music kept going! *facepalm* It was a lovely unintentional vid, though!

Oh goodness yes! I have been thinking, shipping, this particular Holmes & Watson since I saw the first picture posted (um, and hearing RDJ talk about the movie only fed the brain ;)
