That was the first thing I said when Jennie told me that was Sean Astin (well, right after, "Dude...he used to be skinny as a kid!" (to which Jennie explained that he'd gained the weight so he could get the role and then had trouble keeping it on because they were so active). But I also could see Patty Duke in my head clearly from the Miracle Worker with Anne Bancroft as Annie and from the one w/ Patty Duke as Annie and a much-too-old Melissa Gilbert (pre-Bruce Boxleitner) as Helen, and from the photos from the earlier one in every textbook printing of the play, and from It Takes Two, a DREADFUL Thursday night ABC sitcom from the 80s where she played a lawyer who was doctor Richard Crenna's wife and mom to a young Anthony Edwards and Helen Hunt.
