House: "Wilson"
Dec. 1st, 2009 08:13 amThis is mostly a comment I posted in
no_detective's lj, but it's early and I can't think very hard, so here it is as a partial discussion of the episode. This is the light stuff. The heavy stuff will come later.
ETA: No new episodes until JANUARY?! Fuck. Me.
The slash in this was mighty indeed - starting right with House waking Wilson by singing "Faith" ("Well, I guess it would be nice / if I could touch your body / you know not everybody / has got a body like you"). House: "He's a self-important jerk." Wilson: "Seems to be what I'm attracted to." Wilson calling House "Limb." House asking Wilson "Late night with the Pigeon Sisters?" House wearing Wilson's hunting cap in the car when the go to visit the possible-organ-donor's sister. House refusing to come to the surgery because "If you die, I'm alone," but showing up anyway just as Wilson is going under (and RSL acting with just the tiniest change in his eyes in that moment is pure fucking awesome). House being there in recovery until Wilson wakes up. The laughing scene (always awesome--especially how in this one Wilson laughs and then clutches himself because the surgery site is still painful). House asking him if he's angry and Wilson being "oh, no, I'm still glad" and House being all... clearly, this man needs to go get angry somewhere.
I love that Wilson not only buys the loft, but that, even after basically throwing House out of his place (and I think, at that moment, he meant it), he says, while looking around the new place's kitchen, "Well, we do need a bigger refrigerator (and House's infinitessimal 'omg' face at the 'we' part of that)," and then "I'm changing our address to a P.O. box." And House's wonderful turning-of-the-tables with "Baby steps." Wilson has encouraged House in his hard work of becoming less of an asshole by saying "Baby steps," so it only makes sense that House would encourage Wilson to let some of that anger out by saying the same thing.
I'm sure I'm missing a million other tiny slash moments that I adored, but man, the episode was PACKED with them.
(The joke about Tucker telling Wilson that the animals can read your minds, and Wilson saying that he should stop thinking about German porn, and and Tuck saying "no, that attracts them" is a sly reference to the fact that the Germans are famous in the porn world for scat, and that animals are attracted to the scent of animal feces. God I love when they do things like this.)
BTW - sauces say that the next episode is even better w/r/t um, you know. Things. And that Robert Sean Leonard might as well start writing that Emmy acceptance speech right now.

Date: 2009-12-01 06:03 pm (UTC)I liked that after Tucker said something along the lines of "Well, the person you want to be with when you are dying isn't always the person you want to be with when you are all right", Wilson SHOWED us that the person he wants there when he might die (during surgery) is the person he wants there when things are ok (in his new loft) - House. And that's how it should be, Tucker, you stupid fool.
The slash gods are pleased, they are pleased.

Date: 2009-12-01 07:40 pm (UTC)And yes, I forgot to point that out -- "The person you want when you're dying isn't the same as the person you want when you're living." But in Wilson's life (*and* in House's life) it totally is.Om nom nom.

Date: 2009-12-05 01:47 am (UTC)There's this: and this:and, most of all, this:The only part of this that's weird is that it says episode 10 airs this coming Monday (according to Ausiello), but the official site says there's no new episodes til January. Possibly they pushed the 10/11 heavy lifting til after the holidays.

Date: 2009-12-09 05:25 pm (UTC)And funny that they're saving the big eps until after the holidays. Would've thought actually having a HOLIDAY EP would get quite a lot of eyeballs.

I don't know if you're interested in spoilers, but if so I wrote some (http://community.livejournal.com/house_wilson/3812761.html) posts (http://community.livejournal.com/house_wilson/3812924.html) collecting all of what we know about upcoming episodes, so far.
