The first real, going-out-of-the-house, social interaction I have had in MONTHS

Saw Inception with E a week ago Sunday. Much to enjoy, much to ponder. Totally annoyed and frustrated by the fact that there was a very large main cast with only two women, since any other character in the ensemble (except Leo DiCaprio's role) could have been a woman, but tried to put that out of my mind as I watched (only mostly succeeded). Went to Tapas Barcelona for dinner and dessert before the movie for the first time in a long time. Had bacon-wrapped dates, sautéed wild mushrooms with amontillado sauce, and a bite of E's scallops (omg seafood I actually like!), and my all-time favorite desserts anywhere: Tarrina De Chocolate (intensely rich, frozen chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce) and Pera Rellena (roasted pear stuffed with white chocolate and mint, with a berry sauce). YUM YUM.

This past Friday/Saturday, had an unexpected and delightful visit with itsthewa, during which we saw Scott Pilgrim vs the World (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR FANS OF ALL STRIPES OMG HILARIOUS AND AWESOME), and went back to Tapas Barcelona. Dinner before the movie, and then dessert after. You can guess which desserts I had. NOM. Then back to my place for a fun fannish sleepover, during which we talked muchly about our love for Sherlock, and I hooked Wa on White Collar (we marathoned all the way through the S2 premiere; she only has to watch four more to be ready for tomorrow). Plus I showed her Christopher Walken's number from Pennies From Heaven. She has excellent taste, and was therefore suitably impressed.

Yesterday (Sunday), had an unexpected and delightful visit from fan_eunice, during which I hooked her on White Collar by showing her the pilot. And not even the whole pilot. She got hooked... very, very early on in the pilot. I burned the series for her on DVD, and fully expect bouncy posts from her about it.

Wow. Not only has this been a social ten days, but the ten days alone has been more social than I have been... in the past year, possibly.

YAY SCOTT PILGRIM! YAY WHITE COLLAR! YAY FRIENDS!

And I still have Leverage and Mad Men waiting for me on the TiVo.
