Man, this paper would have been FUCKING GREAT if I'd started it two weeks ago, instead of the night before it's due.

*headdesk*

*tea*

*self-recrimination*

*another headdesk*

*more tea*

*desperate wish for time machine*

*wonder if printer has enough black ink for all related documents*

*further procrastination by posting to LJ*

*more fucking tea*

*yet another headdesk*

*wonder if "concussion from headdesk" is a valid excuse for not attending class*

*TEA*

I take on the Charlie Brown mantra in Procrastination Time (and PT is my natural, organic state):

If I start writing now
When I'm not really rested
It could upset my thinking
Which is no good at all.
I'll get a fresh start tomorrow
And it's not due till Wednesday
So I'll have all of Tuesday
Unless something should happen.
Why does this always happen,
I should be outside playing
Getting fresh air and sunshine,
I work best under pressure,
And there'll be lots of pressure
If I wait till tomorrow
I should start writing now.
But I if I start writing now
When I'm not really rested
It could upset my thinking
Which is
No good at all.

Not written by me of course. Forgot to include attribution in my original post. This is part of the song "Book Report" from the 1967 musical comedy You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, music and lyrics by Clark Gesner.

It is the most perfect lyrical expression of "Procrastination Derangement Syndrome" that I know of.
