Holy piece of crap, you guys.

This is the first I've heard of it, and even watching the trailer with the sound off it looks wretched. (That particular sort of wretched that's very expensive, of course.) ... If I never see another over-the-shoulder shot of someone shoving open heavy double doors, it'll be too soon.

Have they conflated Guinevere and the Lady of the Lake? I'm not prepared to watch the trailer again with the sound on to see what's going on with her coming up out of the water.

It's not any clearer with the sound on. Seriously. I have no idea.

Oh, my god, they made a vid. A really bad vid.

I know, right? I can imagine sitting in a vid show and digging my nails into my thigh to keep from laughing.

Right? I'm looking at it thinking (while, admittedly, I don't know "Merlin" well at all) it appears to be what would happen if "Merlin" took itself seriously.

Oh dear.

I'm geoblocked. :(

Oh no! Um... it's a preview for "Camelot" which is going to be a new tv series on Starz, here in the states. I'll look around for a non-blocked version....

Judging from the comments it's maybe a mercy not to see it... though seriously, this geoblocking habit is out of control. I sort of get that they block their online episodes, what with wanting to sell them to different markets, but the promotional stuff? That sort of defeats the purpose. *grumble* Though maybe it's because of music rights, after all half of youtube is blocked in Germany because of them.

omg, we have to have the EVIL BRUNETTE WOMAN against the blond, blue-eye hero? and his blonde twu wuv? REALLY? Can we *possibly* throw any more tropes into this? Oh, yeah, don't forget KINGS IN THE DARK AGES TOTALLY RULED BY THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE Y'ALL.

Well, in defense of this piece of trash that I'm not going to be watching show, it seems far more true to the traditional legend than, say...Merlin. Which...isn't saying much? *G*

*goes back to watching Merlin, 3.10*

It's too bad, because I saw some actors I love in that trailer (namely James Purefoy and Philip Winchester, though I like Joe Fiennes and Eva Green, too). Ah, I see the dude playing Arthur actually IS from Twilight -- no wonder he looks so... blah. So does Guinevere.

I am *so* there.

See, I was watching it, giggle-snorting at the fantastic awfulness and then the bandom music started up.

It's going to be Dante's Cove bad.

Squee!

I think it's "disengage brain, squee" watching! I'm there too.

Well I for one am going to watch it. I've been looking for a new comedy to add to my shows....

I really love the cliched everything in the trailer. The only one missing is Arthur crying over a fallen friend.

Yeah, but Joe Fiennes, Eva Green, James Purfoy? I'm a weak woman...

JOSEPH FIENNES. Count me in on that brand of weak.

I was actually kind of looking forward to this one, but I dunno now that we're actually seeing bits of it. I'm not sure I can get past the casting of Arthur here. Even James Purefoy might not be enough to compensate.

Though at least it'll be easier to separate in my head from Merlin!

Well I think it's another take on King Arthur...oh that was a rhetorical question, wasn't it?

I think it could be very entertaining if approached in the right way. Like with a bot--glass of wine. Or two.

Seriously?
If they MUST have another Arthur under the age of 18 I'd rather it was one with a modicum of looks and/or talent (at least in Merlin Arthur is still a prince, and there are, ya know, grown ups around.) Plus? WHUT IS UP WITH THAT THEME SONG????

Thank Christ I don't get Starz.

Well, first I do appreciate when pros attempt to do fanvids. Second, if this was the story about Morgana dealing with a violent, immature, pretender to her father's thrown and her triumph over the people that sought to take her birthright from her, I'd be interested. Since this is the same old demonizing the woman nonsense that I get nearly everywhere, I'll give this a miss.

So this just all the people who didn't get cast in The Game of Thrones getting together to wear bad costumes and play with swords, right?

I put it on mute and inserted better dialogue.

"Who's that, then?"
"I dunno. Must be a king."
"Why?"
"He hasn't got shit all over him."

It reminds me of going to SCA events- a lot of pretty people pretending to be medieval. It also looks like they were using the King Arthur Checklist (tm).

- Sweeping vistas of castles on cliffs
- Swordplay inside the aforementioned castles

...you know, I was going to keep going with that joke, but I just don't have the energy.
