A woman who works in an antenatal ward (I'm assuming in London) just tweeted that David Tennant and Georgia Moffat arrived about an hour ago. I'm sure we'll get updates as warranted, and we'll probably know that the baby has been born before some of their family members do.

How strange it must be, to be famous nowadays.

Wow, I didn't even know she was pregnant! Congrats to them.

I can't even look at pictures of the two of them, haha. Reminds me too much of Doctor Who *facepalms*

Wow, way for her to break all sorts of privacy laws. Some people have no sense of decency.

If she was a student (as seems to be the current news), it might have been a lack of knowledge about that kind of thing, plus an overwhelming excitement at seeing what she saw. It was a bad move all around, but I'd give her the benefit of the doubt that, rather than having no sense of decency, she just wasn't thinking because she was overwhelmed with EEEEEE by what she saw.

Now, yes, I could be wrong, but sometimes people who act stupidly aren't necessarily indecent.

Medical personnel, even students, are required to be professionals and respect patients' privacy, regardless of levels of EEEEEE as you put it. She should have known better, and will likely lose her job over it--as well she should.

Yeah, seriously. I was a temporary receptionist at a *school* for lab technicians once, that just happened to be on a hospital campus-- it was a totally academic environment, and there wasn't even the vague possibility of my coming into any kind of contact with actual patient information. And I *still* had to set aside time first thing for a little HIPAA "learning module" about handling patients' personal information. I don't know what they call HIPAA in the UK, but anyone in a medical environment, even a volunteer/student, is not going to be anywhere near patients unless they have been trained about patients' privacy.

Yikes. Nothing like having your most private moments on full display. As always, I'm torn between the horror of celebrity voyerism and reeeeeeeeally wanting to know what's going on (yes me=hypocrite). Is it possible they're just visiting the facility or is GM definitely in labor? It'd actually be kind of amusing if there was a bunch of flap and it turns out they're just checking the place out. XD

Wow. I hope she considers an evening of extremely wide readership worth losing her job -- which is, of course, assuming her supervisors fire her for it at all. (Can't imagine they wouldn't, but it's an odd world, indeed.)

Hopefully for her, there are a lot of other students there and they won't be able to figure out who did it.

now - How many episodes of Dr. who will junior be in?

Yeah, speaking as someone who works in a medical facility, that woman is most likely going to lose her job if they figure out it was her. Yikes.

But your point is so true! I've been in two RPS fandoms, one during the early LJ years, so pre-social media like Twitter. The one I follow now has made me realize how very, very, very easy Twitter makes it to stalk celebrities, though I'm pretty sure none of the fans in AI RPS go beyond virtual stalking.

Seriously, though. We pretty much know when our guys are at Starbucks, at Wal-mart, at a club, at the airport, on a flight, at a fast food restaurant. We usually know even more specific details because someone tweets the exact location or the destination of the flight, etc.. It's totally different than it was in popslash circa 2002-2003.

I can only imagine how weird and frustrating it must be for the celebrities. I have to say, however, that I don't really hear about any increase in random people actually running out to physically stalk celebrities based on this kind of info. So I would think the weirdness/unpleasantness would come more from the constant sense of being monitored than anything else, maybe?

I'd be very pissed if someone violated my privacy like that. Also, I'm trying to get the idea of the Doctor knocking up his daughter out of my brain. /o\
