Many of you know Sandy, aka sherrold, a longtime fan and vidder, part of the Media Cannibals and Clucking Belles vidding groups. If you've been reading her journal (also sherrold at dreamwidth), you know that she's been fighting cancer for a while, and right now, the news isn't good.

movies_michelle has an update here, and she'll provide info if you want to send a card or flowers, on making donations to Equal Rights Washington in Sandy's name, and other suggestions that don't cost anything.

Another fan, talking_sock, is going to be going to try and see her this weekend, and is willing to print out notes for Sandy, if you get them to her today. Information is here.

I can't entirely imagine fandom without Sandy. She's been -- hell, a fixture, an institution, one of the most awesome women I know, ever since I got here in 1999.

The prospect of her being gone breaks my heart, but the prospect of her continuing to suffer with this $*^%*^% cancer does too.

Oh, God. :(((( She and I don't know each other, but I remember her site and recs and I'm pretty sure she really sweetly agreed to beta-read something for me once way back when, even though what I'd written was total shit. Wow. I really hope she pulls through. :(((
