People who have "friended" me on Facebook, or added me on Google+

For the moment, I am deleting all Facebook and Google+ accounts--for several reasons.

1) They're just two more places where I won't spend time.

2) I'm still not getting what they're *for*, exactly.

3) I don't have time to figure them out in detail (what you can do on them, why, etc.), and I hate jumping in to anything without a good sense of what the hell I'm doing--I am having enough trouble finding the time to thoroughly explore Dreamwidth to the point that I feel good about using it (and I *really* want to use it as my primary fannish posting home).

So, don't feel personally slighted if I disappear from your Facebook and/or Google+ life. It's a possibility that I will return. But not in the foreseeable future. (But, as Judy Blume so succinctly put it--Then Again, Maybe I Won't.)

Good for you! I use them because (1) most of my RL friends are no longer nearby IRL and I don't want them all exposed to the porn I write, and (2) they're outlets the organisations I volunteer for use for publicity and I like to help that. on a personal level, all i do with them is share cat news and find out if there's a Judder this week.

:) Since I most don't care to connect with "RL friends" online, because all of my RL friends are people I talk to/see all the time, and the last thing I need is people I knew in high school tracking me down, it's just not worth it right now.

Go you! Facebook is the devil. Or something. It's definitely evil. I don't know about Google+ yet, but for me it seems just unnecessary, you know?

I went on a friending frenzy on Google + in the first few days and then forgot all about it for the most part. I don't see what everyone is so excited about... :-/
