Geez, what did they do to Gary Oldman? He looks older than Guinness did when he played Smiley!

I think mostly the man has done some hard living.

Sure, but that supposedly stopped a decade ago. And I'd seen pics from earlier this year and he looked good! (Huh, I just took another look at those -- he was smiling in all of them, so the lower part of his face didn't look so... droopy. Wow, still a dramatic difference, though!)

He looked pretty damn fine in Red Riding Hood! He's definitely looking older, but I think the b&w, angle of his face, and the makeup are adding to it. Compare this and this, for instance. Although I suppose he may just have aged a lot in the intervening four months! *g*

I think it might just be the make up they have him in for the role. In the recent Dark Knight Returns trailer he looks significantly better (though admittedly that's had the some making-up done in the opposite age direction).

I was surprised as well. I think my burning crush has finally faded to comfortable glow.

On the other hand, I like that Benedict is basically cuddling him while he's in a bathrobe that's a wind-gust away from flying open. XD
