Al Franken is in the building -- he's in Chicago on his book tour, and between appearing at Borders downtown and Barnes and Noble in the suburbs, he stopped by to do a segment for our news program.

I got a hug from Al Franken. I so win.

It is very, very cool. And he smells nice. ;)

If you have any interest, he's gonna be up at the B&N at the Old Orchard Mall at 7:30.

Thanks for the heads up, but not only do I not have a vehicle, I gotta be here for the Cubs and TWW tonight.

I knew about him being in the city today, but it got wiped from my mind in the quest for playoff tickets this morning. ::sigh::

Ah! Cubs and WW. Gotcha. I'm getting the Wing on my TiVo, but having seen him here, I don't feel the need to book out to Skokie either.

LOL! Naughty LJ!

As for Z-Con -- I went for a few years and it just isn't my cup of tea. I much prefer things like Escapade and VividCon. But I'm in Chicago, so if you want to get together for dinner or something, I'm game!

LOL! Oh, I'd totally vote for Franken. If nothing else, we could always count on a good sound byte. And since that's all that matters anymore...

Oh, yeah, he's coming out here. I somehow thought that was after I was unemployed, but...today makes sense.

Lucky, lucky you!

I just finished it.

I found myself swerving from utter hilarity to soul-rending rage and back again.

A very good book, but not a comfortable book.
