More theft - this time, website design.
Oct. 21st, 2003 11:41 amCheck out: http://www.smallvillenewsandinformation.cjb.net - which says it's one of the "original" Smallville fansites, yet uses wallpaper, layout, design, and code stolen directly from http://www.allison-mack.com/ and from http://www.loony-archivist.com/smallville -
taraljc's Smallville websites which have been up far longer. The thief's website FAQ also says he uses Notepad to create his site. guffaws HARDLY.
I signed the guestbook; I suggest you do the same.

Date: 2003-10-21 10:39 am (UTC)I still haven't heard form teh guy. but when I perused his updates page, it would appear the new site design has only been up since the 17th. Which is something, at least.
I'd rather not mount a full-scale attack until I actually do hear back from him, tho. Because unlike other thieves, he did at least credit the layout to me.
My thing is... I just really wish he hadn't used my damn layout. That's like taking a piece of fan art or a story and changing it and putting it up. it's just as much hard work, and in this case, it really is 100% originally mine.
Crediting is all well and good, but the root of the thing is that you shouldn't take it and change it in the first place--you ought to come up with your *own*.
