You know how sometimes things only become clear when you sit down to put them in a stupid lj meme? Yeah, like that.
1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
Moved into a place that has warm hues on the walls instead of white. I never want to live in all-white again. Wow.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I suck at resolutions -- I didn't keep mine. But I will still make some for the coming year. Hope springs eternal.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
mgtat did.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope.
5. What countries did you visit?
This year, only this one.
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
I'd like my 25" waistline back. Anyone seen it?
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
October 6, when I lost my home.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I honestly can't think of one achievement.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Putting on even more weight. Sixty pounds in two years has got to be a record of some sort.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No, though I definitely feel my body is older than it has been.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A G5 and cinema display. Whooo-hoo!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Michael Moore's. Howard Dean's. Jessica Lynch's, not that anyone listened.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
George W. Bush. John Ashcroft. Anyone who supported the current administration. They are anti-American and they are criminals. And no, I'm not being snarky.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Moving expenses and paying off my debt.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The six-hour, two-night production of The Cider House Rules at Famous Door Theatre. VividCon. Return of the King.
16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
Superstar, by Teagan and Sara.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Much, much sadder.
ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter, unfortunately.
iii. richer or poorer? A little poorer, but not significantly.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Attended live theater. Exercised.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Hoping against hope.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
At the movies with J, P, E, and possibly M, seeing either Big Fish or Peter Pan.
22. Did you fall in love in 2003?
Nope.
23. How many one-night stands?
::laughs hysterically::

Evenly split between Dead Like Me and Carnivale.

Oh, yes indeed.

Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore.

A raise.
29.What did you want and not get?
Inspiring talent.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Return of the King.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 34, and I don't think I did anything special.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Being in a position from which buying my home would have made sense.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
Does it fit? Oh, thank God.
34. What kept you sane?
Um. My strength of will and my chat room.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I don't have a far-and-away favorite this year. Sean Astin, Martin Sheen, John Spencer, Emma Thompson, Bill Murray.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The incredible ignorance of the American public, who are willing to trade away everything they like to boast they stand for, for security that doesn't exist.
37. Who did you miss?
Bill Clinton. Aaron Sorkin. Paul Wellstone. Katharine Hepburn.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
KO, my new neighbor. I'm so pleased to have her as a friend.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003:
Don't fool yourself, even if it provides temporary happiness -- and all happiness is temporary.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage."
