So, thanks to a heads-up from [livejournal.com profile] melina123, I got into an irc chat with a Senior Vice-President of Marketing and DVD Product at FOX. FOX owns the MtM-produced tv shows, including Remington Steele.

[tzikeh]: Hello - thanks for taking time to talk with us. I was wondering if there are any plans to release Remington Steele to DVD, since Pierce Brosnan is so famous as Bond. Done.
peterstadd: One of the guys int eh office has been pestering us for six months straight to release Remmington, and we will be releasing it probably later this year. I hope you'll like it when we are done. Richard didn't put you up to that question did he ;)
peterstadd: done

AHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!

ETA more quotes from Peter:

...Millenium and Harsh realm will be out on DVD this year. The first season of millennium is some of the finest TV ever produced - in my humble opinion - and I'm glad we can finally bring it out on DVD. Done

Space A&B might be out in the not too distant future. Done

Millenium! Harsh Realms! Now all they have to do is bring out Brimstone and VR.5, and . . . I'll have no money to buy all that, but I can finally dream about buying some of the best shows Fox ever canned.

Millennium! Squee!!!!

And now if they'd do Brimstone (with commentary by Glover?) I'd be a happy little succubus!

Fox doesn't own Brimstone... Warner Home Video does. Given the difficulty the LFN fans have had (which is a much bigger fandom for a much more commercially successful show) getting even one season on DVD, I wouldn't hold my breath for Brimstone, sadly.

Did you hear that squeaking sound? That was my face pressing up against the glass of the figurative store window in anticipation.

Ooh! Me too! After getting all my old SAAB vids ready to go on line I'm reminded just how much I love that show.

Okay, *now* if you listen closely, you'll hear the squeak of my face against my monitor as I wish like hell I had a high-speed connection to gobble down your SAAB vids. Doggie in the window!

All this face-planting is gonna give me a skin condition...

This dial-up will let you savor rather than gobble.

If you decide to make your modem work overtime they can be found at www.triptychvids.com.

Oh, Millennium, how I loved thee so when I loved thee. (I had a love/bored relationship with that show, and when I loved, I Loved.) And here I was thinking that my DVDs To Purchase list had an end in sight. As if.

So, are you the person I should try to talk into doing "Accentuate the Positive" for Millenium?

Millenium ... will be out on DVD this year.

Oh god. Millennium is, IMO, the best TV that was, is, and is to come, world without end, amen. I don't even have tapes. I had dispaired of ever seeing it on DVD.

I can't think of any news I would rather have heard. Thank you for passing that along.
