Dean for America

No, this isn't a joke. Just because he's a liberal, eggheaded, New England Governor whose campaign is called "Dean for America" and he's married to a medical doctor doesn't mean he can't also be real.

Dean for America is the website of Vermont Governor Howard Dean, who is in the running to be the Democratic nominee for the Presidential election of 2004.

He appears to be the only Dem running against Bush, and not alongside him. He is certainly the only one of the hopefuls who didn't close ranks behind the President and agree not to disagree with him on the war.

There are Howard Dean meet-ups happening on April 2nd in cities all over the United States.

This is the man who, as his re-election day loomed, signed Civil Unions into law in Vermont while 60% of the population of the state was against it. He was still re-elected.

We all say things like "Yeah, but he'll never win." And he may not. But he surely won't if we don't do something to help.

Well, she tried to curry favor with the Chicago Tribune by getting them a huge tax cut (it backfired), she skipped Freshman Senate Orientation Week to vacation with a dictator guilty of enormous human rights violations (she was the only member of the Senate to oppose sanctions on Nigeria), and she's also just not very bright. Her election to the Senate, while striking a blow both for blacks and women in government, was a fluke, and it's a shame that she was the person to embody that symolism.
