One of the places Queer Eye for the Straight Guy went in this week's episode was La Maison du Chocolat - which is my favorite chocolateur in the world. Seriously - nothing else even comes in a close second. This is the place. If you really want to make yourself crazy (or spend a lot of money on chocolate), visit http://www.lamaisonduchocolat.com/ and browse around.

My favorite part of their website is that you can select a particular chocolate assortment and click on "discover the assortment" - which gives you an interactive Flash animation with clickable chocolates, each one giving you a description of the ingredients and sometimes why it's called what it is.

And it amuses me how much classier anything sounds in French. A place called House of Chocolate would sound cheesy in America--fun, but cheesy. La Maison du Chocolat just sounds elegant.

Eh, for my money Richart's filled chocolates -- caramel, raspberry and hazelnut ganache -- are superior, though the mint infused Maison du Chocolat is indeed hard to beat.
