tzikeh: (hulk smash - anger - stupidity)
[personal profile] tzikeh

I don't want to go into details, but red tape BULLSHIT and other hoops I have to jump through have got me on some shaky ground w/r/t next semester, and possibly NOT getting the hell out of school at my set deadline. I really need some fun and happy things to cheer me up, so tell me, if you would, what's making you happy?

I can't spend time reading or watching anything online (please don't talk to me about Vividcon, thanks), but let me know why you're in a good mood today, or show me some fun pictures, post some macros or animated gifs in your comment, tell me a stupid joke, remind me about things coming up in the future that I might like, or, well, anything. I need some happiness and good news and some laughs.

ETA: Aaaand the newborn upstairs just started screaming. Great.

Isn't it though? I particularly like the part about "rebellious women". That poor boy is never getting any ever again.

And I got paid today! *g*

It's the last day of orientation at my U

Things that made me happy today:

1) It fucking rocks to work in an academic library if you have to do any kind of research. I'm just sayin'.

2) I just gave an orientation tour, and it's a great feeling to put a friendly face on the University Libraries for incoming freshmen and transfer students.

3) As a joke to help cheer my co-worker, Frances, I made a "cakewreck" style cake (Luck Good Fransis!) and not only has she been giggling away, it's been a hit with the rest of the department.

---
BTW if any of your "arrrggh!" has to do with financial aid or grants, you have my deepest sympathies. We cringe when we have to refer people to them on our campus.

It is not financial aid - I actually wish it were. That would be less stressful, believe it or not.

I LOVE that you purposefully made a cakewreck cake!

And how goes Mad Men?

She meant to do it, okay? Totally intentional! Yeah, she just caaasually yawned and curled up on the couch...with her back to us. *g*

I've only seen two episodes of Mad Men but I'm hooked! I was meh on the first ep, but the second completely grabbed me.

When do you watch ep 3?

Right now, what's making me happy is clameurisms. (Yeh, big surprise, I know. *g*) I've recently been rewatching some of my faves. Including a spectacular one from the Granada Sherlock Holmes TV adaptations--dunno if you ever watched those. But at the end of the episode "The Six Napoleons," there is a Holmesian clameurism that nearly MELTS MY FACE OFF. Mmmmmmmm clammity goodness.

THANK YOU for the hug. I need one.

And yes, I'm shocked, SHOCKED to find that clameurisms are going on in here!

Doesn't the Napoleons one have Counselor Troi in it? I'm trying to remember a clameurism....

Daaaaamn, woman, your memory is excellent! It does indeed!

The clameurism is at the very end. Holmes has produced the solution to the case with a big ta-daaaaa. Inspector Lestrade steps forward, but instead of engaging in their usual one-upsmanship, he very straightforwardly praises Holmes, and tells him how proud of him [Holmes] they are down at Scotland Yard, ending with, "And if you come down tomorrow, there's not a man, from the oldest inspector to the youngest constable, who wouldn't be glad to shake you by the hand." Holmes' face during and after that speech is a wonder to behold, going through a dozen flickers and shades of expression as powerful feelings well their way to the surface despite all his intense efforts. Whew. ♥

Naturally, Jon took her school and demolished her (with a smile). Well, today she was FIRED FROM HER JOB WITH SOME MEDICAL DEVICE CONGLOMERATE!!!!!

here's a link
