You know, just gonna bitch here for a moment about tv network websites. They are often gorgeous, easy to navigate, fun, informative, full of good pictures, and plenty of contact info for "your favorite shows" yadda yadda yadda. But you know what a *lot* of them lack?

Anything anywhere that tells you *how to get in touch with the people in charge of the freaking website*.

Like, say a good Samaritan, such as myself, notices that hey, they have a serious problem with something on the site. And I say to myself "Self - you are a television station website person. If something were seriously wrong with your site, you would want someone to email you or call you and tell you, right?" and then I answer myself "Why yes, Self, I would - and that is why you can find the webmaster email under the Contact Us menu on our site."

Stupid. Fucking. Losers.

That's very dumb design. But you could just try webmaster@whateversite.com, since they're required to have that address. That doesn't take away from the dumbness of the design, it's true.

Likely they fear a deluge of emails the likes of "Can you get me an autographed picture of [fill in the blank]" or "You F%&@ing B*tcas cancelled my favorite show When Survivor Attacks!!!"

Most companies put up websites not so they can "better serve their customers," no matter how much they like to tell themselves and their employees that.

They put up websites and voicemail mazes and other shit like that so they can avoid ever having to deal directly with their customers ever again. That's what that crap is -- another layer between them and the people who give them money. The LAST thing they want to do is make it possible for anyone to TALK to them.

The only contact most companies want to have with their customers is getting their checks in the mail.
