It's Not Looking Good for the Loop House.

So, yeah, it was probably a pipe dream anyway, but I'm not really going to be able to buy my wonderful apartment that I've lived in for seven years. It's going condo, and it's just too much, especially for a first purchase.

I'm pretty emotional about it - I've lived here longer than any other place except my childhood home (which didn't exactly feel warm and loving), so this has really been *my house* for much of my adult life. I'm dismayed to have to move - and I don't think that the roommates will be staying together either, due to various financial, emotional, and life-changing circumstances. But. Life goes on; it's *hardly* the end of the world.

So, who knows what will happen now. Our lease is up Oct. 1. I'm sure y'all will be kept posted.

Sigh.

*hugs* Everything's changing so rapidly this year. (*whine*) Loop House has been an incredible place for gatherings; it'll be a shame to see it go.

But, wow--that's a lot of loss, happening all at once. I hope the universe steers some good opportunities your way to help make up for it, but yeah, I imagine "emotional" is a pretty understated way of putting it. Here's hoping there's a good "home" waiting for you to find it.

This is such rotten news! I'm so sorry, sweetie! The Loop House will always be home to some of my fondest memories. Oct. 1 will be a sad, sad day for everyone who's spent time there.

Oh, no! That's such an emotional blow, in addition to the financial and logistical impact. I'm so sorry! Change is *bad* when when you don't want it and what you have to change from is so wonderful. I think I'm due in on Thursday around 2ish, or so they say, but they mostly lie. I'm filled with trepidation after the stories I heard last year. But you'll be in the thick of things at that point.

Actually, that may work out - because we'll be running up to the hotel Thursday afternoon and it's likely we'll need to make more than one trip - you could come back to the house with us if you're willing to load cars up with DVD players. ;)
